What is Two-Factor Authentication?

SmartTRAK has implemented new security measures to protect you and your data.

Two-factor authentication is an extra layer of security that allows SmartTRAK to ensure that those that are logging into a SmartTRAK account are who they say they are. This is an industry standard security practice that keeps your data and the SmartTRAK platform secure.

As part of this process, users will only be able to be logged into SmartTRAK from two devices simultaneously. If you only use SmartTRAK on your laptop and your smartphone, you're golden! If you use SmartTRAK from more devices, we may ask you to login in again just to make sure it's really you. Your safety and security are our priority!

How it works:

  1. If you use SmartTRAK from 2 or more devices, we will ask to verify your identity.
  2. SmartTRAK will send you a code via email to do this.
  3. You will be asked to enter the code along with your login credentials.
  4. If you do not get the email with the code, please check your spam folder for a message from SmartTRAK!

To ensure your login experience is seamless, make sure you work with your IT team to "white list" SmartTRAK's emails. This will ensure you will get the two factor authentification email that our system will send out with a code to verify your identity about sign-in.  If you aren't getting the sign-on email please check your spam folder for the message from SmartTRAK!

To ensure the security of the external links in your Updates email, all links inside SmartTRAK Updates will now require an active SmartTRAK login to use. All of the great Updates content will still show up in your inbox like it does today. This is strictly to make sure that the external links inside the email stay secure and trustworthy.
